Terms of Use
These Terms govern your use of the MAi Cards mobile application and related sites (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. What MAi Cards is
MAi Cards is a personal second memory product. You deliberately capture valuable fragments of daily life (tips, dates, facts, ideas) as memory cards. AI may structure cards in the background, and you can recall them by browsing, searching, or chatting with your memory — including answers grounded in your cards with citations.
The Service is for personal, lawful use. It is not a medical, legal, financial, safety, or emergency service, and not an ambient life-recording device.
Brand name: MAi Cards. Tagline: Save anything. Find it naturally.
2. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be old enough to use the app stores and the Service under the laws of your country (and at least 13 where that is the U.S. COPPA floor).
- Guest mode. You may continue as a guest without a full sign-in. Guest data is stored on our servers under a guest identity. Guests are nudged to save a real account; if a guest never saves a sign-in and the device session is lost, access to that guest data may be lost.
- Sign-in. Email one-time code, Google, and Sign in with Apple (where available). There are no passwords to set in MAi Cards. Signing in upgrades a guest in place when possible, or signs you into an existing account when that identity is already known.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email / Apple / Google account secure.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create risk to other users or our systems.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create (cards, messages, and similar materials). You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, embed, display, and back up that content solely to operate and improve the Service for you — including AI structuring, semantic recall, chat, sync, and backups.
You are responsible for what you store. Do not upload content you lack rights to use, or that is illegal, harmful, or infringes others’ rights. Do not store only-copy critical information solely in the Service without your own backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.
4. How the product works (rules you should know)
- Capture first. Saving a card does not wait on the network or a model. Your words are stored as you wrote them; AI structuring runs afterward when available.
- AI structuring. Models may propose a title, tidied body, and tags as a new version. Your original capture remains in history. Structuring is best-effort; if the daily AI budget is spent, the card still saves, possibly without a refine.
- Chat with your memory. You can talk casually with a second-memory companion, or ask about your saved life. For claims about what you saved, the assistant is designed to answer from your cards and cite sources — and to say honestly when it cannot find something, rather than invent a memory.
- Card actions in chat. Creating or editing a card via chat is attributed to you. Deleting a card via chat requires your confirmation; the assistant cannot hard-delete on its own.
- Voice. Spoken audio is sent for speech-to-text (see Privacy Policy — DashScope). Canceling a take (e.g. slide up) means nothing is sent. Microphone permission is required for voice features.
- Your data is yours alone. Cards and chats are scoped to your account; other users cannot browse your memory through the normal product.
5. AI limitations — important
- AI can be incomplete, biased, or wrong. Verify anything important.
- Structuring is instructed not to invent facts that were not in your fragment, but automated systems can still err.
- Companion chat may use general knowledge when you are not asking about your saved life; that is not a substitute for professional advice.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect recall, or zero data loss.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Abuse, disrupt, overload, or reverse engineer the Service except where law allows;
- Attempt to access other users’ accounts or data;
- Bypass rate limits, free-tier quotas, paywalls, or security controls;
- Use automated scraping or bulk extraction that harms the Service;
- Use the Service for illegal, harassing, or fraudulent activity;
- Misrepresent AI output as professional advice or as verified truth about third parties.
7. Free plan, VIP, trials & payments
Launch plans: Free and VIP. Everyone starts Free. Free includes a daily AI token budget (structuring, chat, and related AI). When the free daily budget is spent, chat may show an upgrade offer; capturing cards is never paywalled.
VIP is a paid subscription that increases the daily AI allowance (product target: larger than Free, described in-app). On mobile, VIP is sold as an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play (via RevenueCat). Store prices and local currency shown by the store are authoritative.
- VIP may include a free trial (e.g. 7 days) as shown in the store sheet. Unless you cancel according to store rules, the subscription may convert to a paid auto-renewing period (e.g. annual VIP).
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your store account settings (Apple: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Google: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions).
- Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Manage billing in the store, not only inside MAi Cards.
- Restore purchases is available in Settings so a reinstall or new device can re-link an existing subscription.
- Entitlements are granted from verified store / RevenueCat signals on our servers — not from an unverified claim on the device alone. Refunds follow Apple’s or Google’s policies.
- If a guest is on VIP and then saves a real account, plan status is intended to carry over (signing in should not silently downgrade you).
Payment processors and stores are third parties; their terms also apply to purchases.
8. Intellectual property
The Service software, design, and brand (including “MAi Cards”) are owned by RYS AI or its licensors. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app as provided — not ownership of our IP.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how processors such as speech recognition and AI providers are used. Using the Service means you also understand that processing described there is necessary to deliver the features you request.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that memories will never be lost or corrupted.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RYS AI AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD FIFTY ($50). Some places do not allow these limits; there, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed by law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion via support (and in-app when available). We may suspend or end access for Terms violations, risk, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, sections that should survive (ownership of your content subject to deletion requests, our IP, disclaimers, liability limits) remain in effect.
13. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may change features, free-tier limits, model routing, or these Terms as the product evolves. We will post updated Terms with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept them, except where local law requires additional consent. If you disagree, stop using the Service and request deletion of your account.

These Terms are written to match MAi Cards’ product rules (guest upgrade, citation-only memory claims, capture-never-blocked, Free/VIP AI budgets, DashScope voice, store IAP). They are a practical launch agreement, not a substitute for lawyer-reviewed contracts for your company entity or regulated markets.
